It is with great pleasure and honour that we set up the Partnership with CLIC Sargent in November 2015, through their grants process to manage the Arran Grant.
The purpose of this process is to award a grant for children aged (0 – 19) or their families affected by a brain tumour or brain cancer.
Since December 2015, this process has awarded 273 grants with a total award of £40,660.
‘Childhood cancer plunges families into debt. In fact, CLIC Sargents Cancer Costs research shows that families spend on average £600 a month extra during their childs cancer treatment. Working in partnership with The Smile of Arran Trust has meant we are able to support more families who are struggling to keep their heads above water financially; which is a fantastic example of two charities working as one team to support those affected by childhood cancer.’ Rachel Tappenden, Head of Services: Quality & Projects.
We are delighted with the success of this partnership, particularly as current published information highlights the financial pressures on families that are affected by a child with cancer.
Thanks again to CLIC Sargent and all our fundraising Angels and Heroes, you really make a difference.
