
Maddie Collett, Darcey Thacker, Rebecca Stone and Charlotte Stone, all 14 signed up to run the race for life. Maddie said: “We were all thinking of Arran as we were running the course and we hope we’ve raised enough money to make a difference to someone.”
Thousands of women wore pink with pride as female fundraisers took part in the city’s annual Race for Life event at Hylands Park.
Almost 4,000 women joined the ‘pink army’ to tackle either a 5km or 10km course as they ran through the park on Sunday for the Cancer Research event.
The city began hosting its own Race for Life event 17 years ago and with the help of other fundraising events up and down the country, Cancer Research has doubled its survival rates over the last 40 years.
