A group of friends took an unusual approach to fundraising when they donned their grimmiest rags for a sponsored “tramp off”.
Regulars from the Waggon and Horses, Great Yeldham, dressed as tramps and agreed to be left in the wilderness 20 miles from home to raise over £3,000 for the Smile of Arran Trust.
Paul Boulter, 47, said: “It came out as an idea over a couple of pints, I wasn’t sure what the legalities were, we hoped we wouldn’t get locked up for vagrancy.”
